Fatou Bensouda, the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) lead prosecutor, concluded a formal preliminary examination of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in late 2019. Despite Israel’s objections, she moved forward requesting a Pre-Trial Chamber on the basis of Palestinian consent, on which the Pre-Trial Chamber is expected to make a decision shortly.
