"Iran's Missiles, Iran's Ambitions" with Uzi Rubin
Watch on YouTube
Description
Iranian missiles pose two outstanding threats. First, while the Islamic Republic has formally pledged to limit the range of its missiles to 2,000km, it has the capability to produce continental- and global-range missiles. Second, it delivers missiles and missile technologies to allies (like Russia) and to proxies (like Hezbollah). What role do Iranian missiles pose today? What happens if the missiles grow in range? Or if they are more widely shared?
Uzi Rubin is a senior researcher at both the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies and at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security. He is the founder and first director (1991-99) of the Israel Missile Defense organization, the body that oversees missile defense programs in Israel's Ministry of Defense. He went on to serve on the National Security Council (1999-2001). Mr. Rubin holds a BS in aerospace engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology, an ME in aerospace engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a PhD in political science from Bar Ilan University.
