Israel Insider with Ashley Perry

Description

In this week’s Israel Insider, Ashley Perry analyzes the opening phase of the joint U.S. to Israel operation against Iran.

He explains how failed negotiations in Geneva and Tehran’s refusal to compromise helped trigger the strikes, and why Iranian leadership mistakes - including predictable command meetings and strategic miscalculations about Washington - made the opening attack possible.

Ashley breaks down the early stages of the campaign, from the elimination of senior Iranian leadership and the destruction of air defenses to the effort now underway to dismantle Iran’s ballistic-missile capabilities. He also examines how U.S. and Israeli forces are coordinating operations across Iranian airspace and increasing pressure on the regime’s internal repression apparatus.

The episode also explores Hezbollah’s entry into the conflict, Iran’s attacks on Gulf states, and the wider regional implications of the campaign.

Ashley concludes by assessing how long the operation may continue, what conditions could bring it to an end, and whether the conflict could ultimately lead to regime change in Tehran.
