Have the UK’s Pro-Jihadis Gone Too Far? with Hannah Baldock
Watch on YouTube
Description
Organizations overtly supporting Hamas predominantly led the 300,000-strong anti-Israel marches on Armistice Day in London to the biggest demonstrations in England's capital since those against the Iraq War in 2003. The open glorification of murder, including calls for a jihad “from London to Gaza” has prompted demands for more robust responses from government and law enforcement. How have Islamist social media campaigns mobilized British youth? How much have anti-Israel activities opened the eyes of the British public to the threat of Islamism? Could this be a turning point?
Hannah Baldock is a freelance journalist and risk consultant with a special interest in the origins, goals and methods of Islamism extremism. A former research fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, her work has appeared in many publications including Focus on Western Islamism, The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, Spiked, The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Independent. She has an BA from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma from City University, London.
