How The Oslo Syndrome Led to the Gaza War with Kenneth Levin

Description

Just like Israel’s entry into the disastrous Oslo Accords, its failure to anticipate the Oct. 7 attack was predicated on the same illusory belief: that the Jewish state can tame genocidal enemies by offering them incentives. Whence originates this misconception? Will the lesson finally be learned? What is a better policy?

Kenneth Levin is a psychiatrist, historian and author of "The Oslo Syndrome: Delusions of a People Under Siege" (Smith and Kraus, 2005). He was a member of the psychiatric faculty at Harvard Medical School for four decades, has taught at various psychoanalytic training institutes in Boston, and maintained a private practice. Dr. Levin holds a B.A from the University of Pennsylvania, a B.A./M.A. from Oxford University, an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in history from Princeton University.
